The Lefortovo tunnel in Moscow is one of the most dangerous in the world. The video cameras of the recently opened tunnel have recorded several accidents, caused by high speed.


Saturn Astra for America

GM has announced that they will launch next year the Saturn Astra, the exact car as the Opel Astra that is sold in Europe. The Saturn Astra will be launched at the Chicago Auto Show in February and will be sold in the US and Canada in the three and five door versions.

The car will be the same probably, with some minor diferences. GM plans to bring to the US just the petrol engines. This move is part of GM’s strategy lately to reconquer the american market with better quality cars already produced in Europe.

The Kia Kue concept

Kia has presented a preview of the future Kue concept, that will be presented at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

The Kue concept represents the different vision that the koreans have about the utilitary crossovers. The Kue is made first for the driver. While it holds the capabilities of an SUV, the Kue offers a unique experience for the driver, the car being built with the idea to be fun to drive and not to give high performace.

Lotus talks about its plans

In its latest industry newsletter, Lotus talked about some of their plans, including information about the Esprit replacement and two other cars, the RWD GT coupe and a 7 seat 4×4 crossover.

Hyundai Coupe SIII

Hyundai has launched the newest version of the Coupe model. The new Hyundai Coupe SIII will be sold starting from January 1 2007.

This new generation received a new interior and exterior design, both in the front and in the back. In the interior, the buyers have the option to choose between red or black leather. Changes can also be seen at the central console, that now has a more sporty look. The Coupe SIII also has an audio system compatible with iPods.

The first engine is a 16 valve 1.6litre with 103HP and a manual 5 gear transmission. The next engine is a 2.0L petrol with 141HP. This engine allows the SIII to make the 0-100km/h in 9.3 seconds and a maximum speed of 207km/h. The top engine is a 2.7L V6 with 165HP with a maximum speed of 225km/h.

Dunno, I would expect more speed from it. 165HP is damn pathetic if you ask me. Don’t know why they even bother making such a nice exterior.

Audi A5 Coupe spy photos

Here’s the latest spy photo of the Audi A5 Coupe, via With a bit less disguise, the car can now be seen much easier in detail. The A5 seems to be almost the size of an A6, with 4.7m in length. The Audi A5 will probably be launched somewhere in the second part of 2007.

Nissan Qashqai is ready for production

The Nissan Qashqai will start being produced today at the plant from Sunderland. The Nissan Qashqai is a 4×4 compact crossover of which about 130,000 will be built/year. 80% of this production will be exported, most of it in Europe but also to Japan, Australia, South Africa and the Middle East.

The Nissan Qashqai will be sold by dealers across Europe starting from February 2007.

Honda Accord Coupe Concept at Detroit

Honda will launch at the Detroit Auto Show a prototype that will certainly atract the american audience to their stand: the Accord Coupe Concept.

According to the press release, the prototype will have exterior and interior lines that will give the first clues to the forms of the new generation of the Accord. The model that will be launched at Detroit will be the first Accord prototype launched at an international auto show.
