The Nissan Qashqai will start being produced today at the plant from Sunderland. The Nissan Qashqai is a 4×4 compact crossover of which about 130,000 will be built/year. 80% of this production will be exported, most of it in Europe but also to Japan, Australia, South Africa and the Middle East.

The Nissan Qashqai will be sold by dealers across Europe starting from February 2007.
