The japanese car invasion in the US is more then real. Nissan confirmed that they want to buy the factories that were closed by GM and Ford.

Daniel Gaudette, the vicepresident of the american division of Nissan, declared: “It depends on what is available and what we need”, answering questions about the Nissan plans for North America.

Whats certain is that Nissan desperately needs an increase in production, since they’re not able to cover the requests coming in. The alliance with GM would’ve solved their problem, but since that didn’t go through, they’re gonna try and buy the factories that were closed by GM and Ford.
