The general manager of GM, Martin Walsh, declared yesterday for Reuters that GM will launch a new Hummer in 2009.

Right now, Hummer has two models, the H2 and the H3. The H1’s production was interupted this summer. “The new Hummber will have incomparable off-road qualities”, said Walsh. “Just like the current Hummers, this model will be recognised with no problems on the street”.

In september, vicepresident Bob Lutz said that the company wants to add three-four models to the current Hummer lineup. He said that a pick-up is one of the models that have to be considered. In october, spy photographers surprised in tests a Hummer with a Chevrolet cabin. Most probably, this will be the first Hummer model.

In june, rumours started appearing that the Chevrolet TrailBlazer might be replaced with a new Hummer model, called the H4.
