Toyota rising

Toyota strengthens their position in the world auto market with some record revenues and profits. Next year, the japanese will take over the first position in the world, currently held by GM.
The financial results of Toyota, the second world auto manufacturer, in 2006, have reached the record number of 2.7 billion euro ( ~3.3 billion dollars), with an increase in profit of 34%.
Toyota also declared that they will buy shares from Isuzu Motors and they want to make diesel engines there. Katsuaki Watenabe, the president of the company, declared that Toyota will open in 2008 their seventh factory in North America.
Most probably, Toyota will take the first position among the auto manufacturers in 2007, with GM dropping to number 2. The sales objectives for Toyota are 8.47 million units for 2006. As for the Isuzu deal, Toyota bough shares of about 5.9% of the company, worth 300 million $.
