China, the third auto force of the world!
China has took the third place in the world at numbers of cars produced from Germany. Only Japan and the US stand in its way now. With the 3.6 million cars produced in the first six months of the year, China managed to make 20% more then Germany, the country that had the third place untill now. China’s position is not all that surprising, the experts saying that it will have the first place in the next 5 years. I’ll have to agree with that. With the chinese exports in the US, and with chinese auto manufacturers trying to get a foothold in the european market (Cherry’s interest in the Craiova auto plant in Romania) I can definetely see the chinese boom happening.
At a world wide level, the car production increased by 6% since last year, with India, China and South America beeing the engines behind this increase. Countries that haven’t joined the EU, like Romania, had a 5-6% increase, while the EU and the US the production is maintained at the same level. The biggest looser seems to be France, who’s auto production went down by 11%.
